Introduction:
Please refer to the Introduction provided with the Organization Setup for more information on this topic.

Description:
Person Organizations are used t
o classify users into organizational groups for access rights and reporting purposes. Each Unanet user must belong to a Person Organization. A Person Organization may be the person’s company, or a department or division within their company.

Since Organizations are key reporting fields, it is valuable to group your people into meaningful buckets or organizations for reporting purposes. This is typically a one-time setup but may require Unanet Administrator maintenance when the company's organization or departments change.

If the "Use Financial Organizations" systems property is checked, the Person Organization must be a Financial Organization for employees. The organization can be used as the posting organization for labor costs and revenues based on the Posting Group setup assigned for the charged project.

Navigate to Organizations > List > List tab > Edit Pencil Icon.

Best Practices:

If the Use Financial Organizations systems property is checked, the Person Organization must be a Financial Organization for employees (designated on the Rates tab CLASSIFICATION as either "Exempt" or "Non-Exempt"). The organization can be used as the posting organization for labor costs and revenues based on the Posting Group setup assigned for the charged project. If data is posted, the person's Financial Organization cannot be changed to a Financial Organization in a different legal entity.

Examples:
Examples of Person Organizations are just like examples of Financial Organizations. These examples may include divisions, cost centers, offices, departments, lines of business, and other internal types of organization.
