Introduction:
Project Time is where you will set up specific rules related to time charges on the project. 

Description:
Key settings are:

  • Allow Future Charges
    • We recommend that this be unchecked for all projects except for leave projects (vacation, holiday, etc.)
  • Bill Rate Source
    • Most typically, this should be set to "Default to the labor category's bill rate" as this drives the default radio button setting in the person Assignment creation.
  • Cost Rate Source
    • Most typically, this should be set to "Default to the person's cost rate" as this drives the default radio button setting in the person Assignment creation.
  • Labor Category Usage
    • This is most typically set to Yes, Required.

Navigate to Project > List > +Project > Time.




Best Practices:
Require labor category for billable projects then assign persons with appropriate Labor Category to the project or project task level assignments. Labor Categories are not required for internal projects (no billing).
