Question

What is the timesheet's primary key?

Solution

The timesheet's primary key is its unique identifier - what we use to find that particular timesheet in the database.

To determine the timesheet's primary key, you have several options.

Option 1

  • Navigate to any listing of timesheets. Examples are Time > Dashboard or Time > List.
  • Without opening the timesheet, hover over the magnifying glass icon.  URL information is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen containing a unique identifying number for that timesheet.

Example:  http://sites.unanet.com/demo_kkerrigan/action/time/view?timesheetkey=3763. In this case, the primary key/unique identifier of the particular timesheet is 3763.

Each timesheet will have its own unique identifier.

Option 2

  • Navigate to any listing of timesheets. Examples are Time > Dashboard or Time > List.
  • Click the magnifying glass icon for a particular timesheet.  URL information is displayed in the address bar at the top of the screen containing a unique identifying number for that timesheet.

Option 3

  • Navigate to People > List and click the clock icon to pull up a list of timesheets for that user.
  • Use the hover or click methods on the magnifying glass icon to get the unique identifier of the timesheet.

Option 4

Run an Adhoc report to show by person and by period the timesheet key. Attached below is a sample Adhoc report definition which you can import through Reports > Adhoc > +Ad Hoc > Import.
