Question

How can I attach a signature or text information to an invoice? 

Solution

Some companies need to attach a signature to an invoice or include other text information (such as Tax ID, DUNS number, bank and routing information) to a customer's invoice. The options are to:

  1. Include the signature and/or text information within the logo on the invoice
  2. Include the text, such a Tax ID number, within the "remit to" address line on the invoice
  3. Use a PDF writer to modify the invoice after creation

Option 1: Include the signature and/or text information within the logo on the invoice

This option works if the end customer will accept the signature (and Tax ID EIN) in the logo section of the invoice. If not, Option 3 is required.

  1. Add signature and/or Tax Id (EIN) to the logo image.



  2. Add logo image for invoice in Admin > Setup > Miscellaneous.


  1. Choose this logo in the Project Profile > Billing > Invoice Setup > Other tab, in the Show Company Logo drop-down list.



  2. Generate the invoice.


Option 2: Include the text, such a Tax ID number, within the "remit to" address line on the invoice

This option would display the information in the remit to section at the bottom of the invoice.

  1. In your company's organization profile, add the EIN number to one of the fields (like Country, for example) in the remit to address.



  2. Choose the remit address in the project profile.

     

  3. Generate the invoice.

Option 3: Use a PDF writer to modify the invoice after creation

After generating the invoice, save as PDF and edit with a PDF editor.

Open the PDF with a PDF editor and move the signature to your desired location on the invoice.

This will not work if you want the signature to appear via the system generated invoice.
