Setting up your system to autogenerate Project Codes
Navigate to Admin > Properties > Unanet > General > Automatic Project Code Generation.
Select your desired Project Code Source (e.g., Project Type, Project Org, Owning Org, or Legal Entity)
Specify your generation logic for the Project Code Source in Admin Setup or Organizations

Project Org and Owning Org (appears on all Org profiles):
Legal Entity (only appears on the Org designated as the Legal Entity):
Back in Properties, specify your desired Project Code Separator
This is the haracter used to segregate the Project Code Source and the Project Code Sequence.
Project Code Sequence Number Minimum Length
This defines the minimum length of the Project Code.
Using the Project Code Generator as an Admin
The Project Code is editable to Admins when adding or copying a project.
Leave the Project Code field blank and click "Save" to utilize the generator. Below is what happens when you leave the Project Code field blank as an Admin and click "Save".
Using the Project Code Generator as a Project Manager
The Project Code field is greyed out (not editable) to Project Managers, meaning the Project Code will always be auto-generated.
- When using the “Copy Project” feature, if you delete the Project Code before the initial save the Project Code generator will kick in.
- Import Projects: You can import projects without a Project Code to use the Auto-Generation. In the example below, the Project Code value is blank.
